Japan intel: North Korea will nuke Hawaii in July; US beefs up missile defense

north_koreaQuoting sources Japan’s  Defense Ministry, the newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun has reported that North Korea may hit Hawaii with a long-range ballistic missile around the 4th of July — the American Independence Day — as tensions continue to mount between the North Korea and the United States over the communist country’s  nuclear weapons program.

FLASH REPORT! US prepares defense: The US military beefed up defenses in Hawaii on Friday over fears that North Korea could launch a missile toward the Pacific island chain [ read story in AFP]

The Yomiuri Shimbun said aside from Hawaii, North Korean missiles were also directed at Okinawa Japan, where the US has an Air Force base, and the US-controlled Guam island. But of all three targets, Hawaii would be the most likely route even though North Korea’s most advanced missile, the upgraded Taepodong-2, has a range of only 4,000 to 6,500 kilometers, short of the 7,000-km distance between North Korea and Hawaii.

The newspaper predicted the launch date to be aroud the 4th of July — between July 4 and 8 –  because “the 1996 launch of the Taepodong-2 missile took place on the July 4 U.S. Independence Day (July 5 Japan time) and July 8 falls on the anniversary of the 1994 death of former North Korean leader Kim Il Sung.”

According to reports, North Koreans had already been set up a missile launch pad  at the Tongchang-ri base near the Yellow Sea, and in Kitteryong near the military demarcation line with South Korea.

Hawaii had been the target of an air raid by Japan which triggered the declaration of war by the United States in World War 2.

Actually, this headline sounds more like we’re being misled by students of The Art of War. We lost the Vietnam War because we underestimated our enemy and didn’t realize just how cunning they were. Be wary of ANY “intelligence” our sources may give us, as they may not actually have our best interest in mind. Double agents are very important. Also, the whole idea behind The Art of War is to confuse a larger enemy, make him think you’re doing one thing while you’re actually doing another, and to systematically eliminate smaller portions of his army while avoiding his massive main infantry and attack forces until he is weakened enough to finally attack. North Korea, if they started a war with us, would certainly employ these types of tactics, and a big headline like this is exactly the type of attention they would like to give a smaller target while they actually plan to bomb Washington D.C., New York City or Los Angeles.

Kinda wierd that Ive see just about nothing about NORTH KOREA lately in the media,tv or even MSN.COM.Has the OBAMA adm. put a squash on the media hyping up the situation,so that we are not giving N KOREA the ATTENTION that they are so seemingly desperate to get? They must be stewing in the fact that they are just not making the headlines in the WORLD news these days,as much more important matters such as MICHAEL JACKSONS DEATH have overshadowed the “look at us!” cries from N. KOREA. F-THEM !
