PESHAWAR: A delegation of 30 University of Peshawar (UoP) teachers will visit India in April to interact with Indian scholars and intellectuals for promoting understanding between teaching communities of both the countries, Peshawar University Teachers Association (PUTA) President Dr Arbab Khan Afridi told Daily Times on Thursday.
The PUTA president, Dr Arbab Khan Afridi, who is coordinator of the group, said, “The teachers will pay visits to Jamia Milla Islamia, Jawahar Lal University, and Madras University and interact with the academia of the Indian universities about different issues”.
He said that the teacher delegation would exchange views on such subjects as how to raise standard of education in the South Asia and to establish close coordination between them for the benefit of the students of both the countries.
The teachers delegationwould also visit historical places, including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Red Fort, and Tomb of Hamayun in New Delhi. The coordinator said the visit would be conducted on self-help basis under the aegis of the Peshawar University Teachers Association (PUTA).
