A group calling itself the United Jinky Pacquiao Fans Club (UJPFC) has demanded an apology from HBO for showing a different “Jinky Pacquiao” during the live coverage of the Manny Pacquiao - Marco Antonio Barrera 2 rematch in Las Vegas last Oct. 6.
Saying the mistake was “a big blow to the real Mrs. Manny Pacquiao,” Jinky Pacquiao fans said the technical crew of HBO Sports should have made a little bit of research.
“The real Jinky Pacquiao was sitting beside the fake Mrs. Pacquiao. How could they miss her?” said a letter sent to PinoySpy editors.
“If they had done a little bit of research on people close to Pacquiao — such as his own wife — they would have not made the big mistake. Yes, we admit that Jinky is not as pretty as that babe they showed on TV, she may not be sexy as Ara Mina, but she is the one and only Mrs. Pacquiao!”
The video shot
The screenshot below was taken during the break between Round 4 and 5. It showed a still unidentified pretty Filipina smiling to the camera and identified as “Jinky Pacquiao, Manny’s wife.” The real Jinky Pacquiao was sitting to the right of the young woman, and they were talking when the camera focused on them.

A comment posted on the blog post said the woman was Andrea Blaesi, an ABS-CBN talent back in the 90’s who’s now based in the U.S., but this cannot be confirmed.
UPDATE: An article in the Philippine Star by Abac Cordero identified the woman as “Joan Ramos, wife of LA-based Team Pacquiao insider Joe Ramos.”

Is this a big deal?
The United Jinky Pacquiao Fans Club of Malabon said it may be a non-issue for other people, but for Jinky Pacquiao, it’s a big slap on the face.
“Put yourself in the shoes of Jinky. Infront of millions of TV viewers, somebody else was identified as Mrs. Pacquiao, wouldn’t you get hurt?” the letter of complaint said.
Observers said the camera man may have thought that the woman was Jinky Pacquiao, because she had a resemblance to Jinky (fair skinnned, shoulder-length hair). The director might have instructed the camera man to pan to that spot, but instead of focusing on the real Jinky Pacquiao, he opted to focus on the other woman who evidently had more glam.
The boo-boo also came in the midst of rumors that Pacquiao was seeing another woman — Filipina starlet Ara Mina. Ara Mina and Pacquiao made a movie together but they have denied the rumors.
Remedies demanded
United Jinky Pacquiao Fans Club asked HBO to apologize to Jinky Pacquiao and also to edit the DVDs of the “Will to Win” fight that will released soon.
“At least they should apologize to Jinky, and also make sure to remove that video clip showing the fake Jinky Pacquiao. Maybe HBO could edit the video and identify the real Jinky Pacquiao,” the fan club said.
Jinky not complaining
Despite the technical boo-boo, nothing was heard from the Jinky Pacquiao.
But the fans club said it was Jinky’s “nature to be soft-spoken.”
“She’s hurt but she doesn’t want to show it because people will take advantage of her and try to ruin her strong relationship with Manny,” the UJPFC said. “She’s the power behind Manny and we should rally behind her.”

and about ara, sobra naman ang kati niya lahat na ata ng may asawa papatulan. sisirain lahat ng relasyon. jinky is still mrs. pacquiao! if manny is doing something he should think about it twice, karma is bad! maybe its goin to be his fall if he continues doing this. he should be satisfied with what he has now coz he’s the pride of filipinos. he should leave it that way!
I don’t think this is a big deal, nobody’s perfect and the commentator anyway cleared it out that it wasn’t jinky the cameraman is focusing. Don’t forget that there is a communication between the cameramen and the commentator during the process. We should learn to understand and analyze things before we do something to make it worst…
