A 24-year-old man married an 82-year-old woman after years of romance in the northern Argentine city of Santa Fe in a civil ceremony Friday.
Reinaldo Waveqche, who has been living with his elderly bride ever since his mother died when he was 15, said the marriage was not for money. He said he has always liked ‘mature ladies.’ He said their relationship is founded on respect and love.
Adelfa Volpes, who was also Waveqche mother’s friend, said, “The age difference has never been important for us.” She offered him a home after he lost his mother but soon they found themselves attracted to each other, she said.
Waveqche, who is unemployed, and Volpes have planned to have their honeymoon in Rio de Janeiro.
Quoted by BBC news, Waveqche said “I’ve always liked mature ladies.”

Ms Volpes, a friend of his late mother, offered him a home when he was “only a boy”… She said there had been an instant connection from the moment he moved in at 15 but it did not turn into a romance until he turned 18. She confirmed that she instigated the romance.
