In a blog post titled “Another stupid SEO strategy: the filipino link builder who can’t write,” Australian blogger Alister Cameron rubs and disses a Filipino who left a comment on his blog using carabao English. He suspects the Filipino was an outsourced search engine optimization link builder under the pay of the MyIdeaGuy blog.

The brunt of his butt was the Filipino’s comment on his blog post “How Darren Rowse can convince Internet marketers to blog“. The comment (comment no. 5) read:

I am very amaze of what you post Alister. You explain everything clearly and full of informations of what people, especially marketers really need to know.

Thank you so much..

Alister tracked the IP to the Philippines, although the comment linked to the MyIdeaGuy blog.

He says:

I’m not saying it’s wrong per se to get someone to “ghost-write” harmless blog post comments all over the place… But hey… at the very least try to get it done to a standard where it’s not immediately obvious that it’s someone else and not you!”

Alister later apologized, saying:

I appeared to despise Filipino people. On this count I am guilty of stupidly repeating the point that the commenter was from the Philippines, leading to the fairly reasonable conclusion that I don’t like people from that country. I regret this a lot.
