An Islamist website has announced that Osama Bin Laden will appear in a new video wherein he will declare war against Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, who is seeking reelection on Oct. 6
The website’s banner said:
“Al-Qaeda will declare war on the tyrant Pervez Musharraf and his apostate army through the voice of the lion, Sheikh Osama bin Laden, God protect him.”
In another video titled “Power of Truth” which was released today, bin Laden’s deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri warned that General Musharraf would be “punished” over the killing of Pakistani cleric Abdul Rashid Ghazi during a commando raid during of the Red Mosque in Islamabad last July.
Said Zawahiri:
“Let the Pakistani Army know that the killing of Abdul Rashid Ghazi and his male and female students . . . has soaked the history of the Pakistan Army in shame and despicableness which can only be washed away by retaliation.”
