Animal warfare: Iranian police arrest 14 squirrels for spying!

spy squirrel

Believe it or now, fourteen (14) squirrels have been “arrested” by the police in Iran on suspicion that they were trying to enter the country on a spying mission.

The furry rodents were found near the Iranian border, and allegedly equipped with eavesdropping (spying) devices, according to a report by the Islamic Republic News Agency of Iran.

Quoting the report from the official Iranian news agency:

‘In recent weeks, intelligence operatives have arrested 14 squirrels within Iran’s borders.’

‘The squirrels were carrying spy gear of foreign agencies, and were stopped before they could act, thanks to the alertness of our intelligence services.’

Some Iranians believe they were British squirrels. Earlier, the residents of Basra, Iraq suspected that the British released giant-sized man-eating badgers and even snakes to terrorize the local population

Animals have been used in history for war and espionage purposes, from pigeons that carry mini-cameras to dolphins that help seek underwater mines.

Maybe this will give the Philippine military an idea: Why not use rats (’daga’) in spying on the NPA, Abu Sayyaf, MILF and Malacanang?

And the guy who trained the squirrels is called the Pied Piper. He’s German, not British!

Lalong gugulo ang abutin ng bansa natin niyan! Kumpleto kasi ang gobyerno natin: maraming ngang buaya, maraming ahas, dugong aso, utak garapata, ugaling talangka, atbp. Why don’t we try fruits instead? Di ba, napakaraming balimbing sa mga politiko natin?
