This dog literally put the money where her mouth is.
In the town of Menomonie, Wisconsin, a family dog chewed on and gobbled nearly $750 in bills, and the owners recovered almost $400 cash in the dog’s feces.
The dog named Pepper, an 8-year-old black Labrador-German shorthair, apparently grabbed an envelope inside a purse lying around in the house, and started chomping on the cash.
It was only discovered that Pepper had eaten cash when the her owner, Debbie Hullman, returning from a vacation, found a $50 bill in one of her poop piles. The family then started sorting through the dog’s feces and netted $400 in total.
Pepper had also vomited some of the cash, and in the end, a total of $647 were recovered.
The family soaked the bills in water, rinsed them and exchanged them at a local bank for fresh currency.
