PinoySpy.net now ranks 4th among all Philippine websites based on the latest ratings by Alexa, a California-based subsidiary company of Amazon.com that provides information on the web traffic of websites worldwide.

Rankings of a local aggregator of Alexa data, TopPhilippineWebsites.com, shows PinoySpy.net on 4th place, after Inquirer.net, GMA-News.tv and ABS-CBN.com. PinoySpy.net is followed by PhilStar.com in 5th place.

PinoySpy.net has been rising in the ranks, from the 10th place previously, and to 7th place, before jumping to 4th.

Overall, PinoySpy.net ranks 44th in Alexa’s Top 500 Websites for Philippine traffic (visitors), including popular sites such as Yahoo, Google, Friendster, Youtube, Megaupload and Rapidshare. ABS-CBN ranks 83rd while Inquirer.net ranks 30th. [See Alexa's Top Sites Philippines]

This announcement is being made to explain why PinoySpy.net cannot be accessed during peak hours, when the server times out from heavy stress and load. PinoySpy has opened new services such as PinoySpyTV.com (video sharing like YouTube, currently becoming popular too) and Espiya.com (social networking like MySpace/Friendster) to disperse this traffic and ease the load on the PinoySpy.net server.

We assure PinoySpy.net members that the website will continue to be a FREE service. PinoySpy.net supports its services from advertisements, sponsorships, and donations from Filipino exiles. Advertisement on PinoySpy is available via Adbrite, where we currently rank No. 1 in of page views for Pinoy sites [see the Adbrite rankings]. We do not use Google Adsense.

Hardware and software upgrades are also being undertaken to enable PinoySpy.net to handle the increasing traffic. Future plans include acquiring a secondary server for load balancing and new software to integrate all services.

PinoySpy.net is a community-powered website that allows the user to contribute content (user-generated content) and provides him/her the power to choose the type of content that he/she wants to access. Similar to Yahoo’s Groups, PinoySpy.net has implemented a Groups module that allows users to join groups and interact with members with the same interests.
