Senator Antonio Trillanes IV: Will the system corrupt his idealism?

Gays in the Philippine Senate are excited over the impending proclamation of rebel soldier Antonio Trillanes IV as the 11th senator-elect of the Republic of the Philippines.

The 35-year-old Trillanes, whose good-looks, bravado and idealism has earned him the monicker “Pinoy Dream Boy” from PinoySpy, won the 11th spot in the recent elections for 12 vacant seats of the Senate.

Among those who are eager to see and shake hands with Trillanes are two Senators who are known to be closet gays.

Trillanes, who’s currently in detention while facing charges of sedition, will be proclaimed on Friday, according to Commission on Elections big boss Benjamin Abalos.

Trillanes fans, who include active generals in the Philippine military, welcomed the news and hoped that their matinee idol will be allowed to attend the proclamation.

Reynaldo Robles, Trillanes’ abogado, said he will ask the courts to allow Tinyente Prince Charming to attend his proclamation by the Comelec, and also to allow him to attend Senate sessions.

Trillanes was one of the military officers who declared a mutiny against the government in 2003. He and 321 soldiers in the co-called Magdalo Group held up at the Oakwood Apartments in Makati City and demanded reforms in the corrupt government.

Trillanes graduated cum laude with a BS Naval Systems Engineering degree from the Philippine Military Academy. He was a recipient of 23 assorted merit medals, campaign ribbons and badges in the Armed Forces.
