In Pasay City, three men who are being sought for a series of robberies around the Light Rail Transit station in Baclaran district were finally arrested by police — after they were caught urinating under the LRT station.
The three suspects — Christopher Diaz, 31, of 98 Bo. Sto Nino; Darwin Dela Pena, 19, of 189 Brgy. Baclaran at Israfil Sultan, 16, of Park Avenue — were positively identified by one of their victims in a police lineup.
The three men were initially booked for violating a city ordinance that prohibited urinating in public areas. Police found by knives when they body searched the suspects, leading them to investigate them further in relation to a series of holdups in the area.
The three matched the descriptions given by some of the victims. Supt. Simon Gonzales, chief of the Station Intelligence and Investigation Section (SIIS) of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), ordered a police lineup to positively identify the suspects.
Two of the victims — Cris Ann Evangelista, 28, ofg Signal Village, Taguig and Jeffrey Mananap, 21, ofg Pulido Compound, Panapan, 4 Bacoor, Cavite — pointed to the three as the same men who held them up at around 5 a.m. of December 5, 2006 at the said LRT Station. (PinoySpy News Service)
