In Quezon City, Philippines, a 12-year-old girl died in the hospital hours after eating spaghetti left over from the family’s Christmas eve dinner (noche buena).
Eleven other persons, including all members of the household, are under observation for food poisoning at the East Avenue Medical Center and Quezon City General Hospital.
The victim was identified as Angelica Corminal, grade school pupil, and resident of 79-B Sto. NiƱo Extension, Barangay Holy Spirit in Quezon City. She died while being treated for food poisoning at the New Era Hospital.
Investigators said a certain Alberto Lubiano, a member of the victim’s household, reheated the leftover spaghetti and served it at around 2 p.m. on December 25 to the family members and some visiting neighbors.
