In Hermosa, Bataan, a 74-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl who was buying a broom (walis tambo) a his store in Barangay Mambog.
The suspect was identified as one Alberto Sioson, 74, of Sitio Sipit in the said locality.
Investigation showed that the alleged rape took place last at around 4 p.m. on Dec. 13. The victim told police she went to Sioson’s store, which was near her house, to buy a broom for her mother.
While at the store, the suspect allegedly grabbed the girl and forced her into his house at the back of the store, and there he undressed and raped her.
The girl went home and reported the rape to her mother, who in turn immediately filed a complaint before the Women’s and Children’s Concern Desk (WCCD) of the Hermosa municipal police station.
The suspect is now facing charges of rape in relation to RA 7610 o anti-child abuse law.
