
Peter Hargittay, spokesperson of call center operator PeopleSupport, on why the company chose to set up shop in the Philippines instead of India:
“India pitched us very hard, but after looking at people in the Philippines we felt very strongly that’s the place to go,” Hargittay said. “Filipinos have much better Americanized accents and much more affinity for the American culture.”
That may be true, but what exactly is an “Americanized accent?” In the United States itself, Americans speak in different accents.

there is no real american accent..since americans differ in the way they speak..ive been to the north..south and east..they speak differently and you can see it..
maybe a better way to say it is that filipinos have wider knowledge about the english vocabulary..
am only a kid but i dont think am goin to agree with the post above..cuz there are different kinds of accents..and not one is perfect..
Accent is only the second matter. Indians are superior in the Technical and English usage than any other.
