The First Philippine Expedition to Mount Everest was a success! Leo Oracion, Erwin “Pastor” Emata, and Romeo Garduce are the first Filipinos to reach the peak of Mt. Everest.

Leo Oracion and Romeo Garduce are sponsored by ABS-CBN. Garduce, who was last in the Philippine Expedition to reach the Mt. Everest peak, is backed by GMA 7. Their rivalry in the Filipino race to Mt. Everest is highlighted up in this article.
