A few weeks from now the DA VINCI CODE will be shown in theatres. What happens when it reaches our shores, will it cause a stir like “Passion of the Christ”? Ano kaya ang magiging reaksyon ng opus dei na very active sa Pilipinas? Ano sa palagay nyo, ako tingin ko a lot self-righteous individuals would again be up in arms again.
A few weeks ago a lotta buzz was created when the GOSPEL OF JUDAS (download PDF Copy) came out. You read it right! – a gospel by the ultimate bad guy. I’m sure a lot of you were again reminded of how evil he was last holy week, the traitor with his 30 pieces of silver. What if, just what if what you’ve been told all along about the guy isn’t true!…Kinda turns your faith upside down huh? Ang tanung eh matatanggap mo kaya? The guy had such a bum rap na kahit saan sulok ng mundo ka pumunta his name is always associated with treachery and deceit. I think it would take generations before we hear of anyone naming their kid Judas.
Some interesting facts people; out of an original thirty or so gospels the four gospels that have been handed down to us were never actually written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. They were all generic until someone decided to name them at hindi lang yan, a number of so called Gnostic gospels where either discarded or banished to oblivion for not being in-tune with what was considered “proper”. Ang tindi siguro ng censorship nuon, just imagine “ Gospel of Magdalene” – ops! Teka di ba masamang babae yan? Tapon sa basura yan!, “Gospel of Judas” – ano ba yan? Sino ba sumulat nito, malamang sira ulo. Please lang, paki-baon sa lupa yan at dasalan.

In the Da Vinci Code Jesus married and had children with Mary Magdelene, the Gospel of Judas tells of his closeness to Jesus Christ (hints of his homosexuality perhaps?). Ano ba talaga tita, is nothing sacred? Googling “sex in the bible” I came across a lot of passages insinuating sexual activities lalo na sa Old Testament. Subukan ninyong basahin yun laman ng ilang websites, kung isasa-pelikula ang mga ito at medyo “for art’s sake” ang direktor malamang “for adults only”. Sabi ko na nga ba eh, nuon pa man marami ng nagkalat na berde ang utak sa mundo, so why do many people still find the topic of sex or sexuality taboo?
