What is Economic Takeoff?

Recently, the government announced that we are ready for the “economic takeoff” and thanking the strong support of the tax paying public that made it possible. It’s very difficult to swallow, the government is telling the global community that Philippines is on its way to the top, and covering the fact that its citizens are not happy about it. Maybe that’s their definition of being ready for economic takeoff; the rich in the international image but the people are poor.

Some politicians often say that the Philippine economy is stable and ready for economic takeoff. They keep on viewing the oil prices, in which the Philippines tend to have lower oil prices compared to other Asian countries. That reason is coined on how the sphere politics overlaps the sphere of economy. Why? Because it’s purely politicking, Philippine oil prices may be low compared to other countries but our purchasing power is not quite good, or in the sense that we cannot purchase everything. Di makakaya ng majority of pinoy kahit gaano ka-low yan.

And further, the public does not support the 12% R-VAT, but forced go with it. Well, it came to a concept wherein PGMA expressed in her old SONA, “We need to sacrifice the present generation, in order to save the future of the Philippines” and that’s not a lie, she’s telling the truth; we are now suffering.
